Takarunga Luxury Lodge

Built in the late 1800s, Takarunga is situated in the main street of the quaint small maritime village of Devonport, only a 10 minute ferry ride (departing every 15-30 minutes) to downtown Auckland City. Devonport’s easy location has ensured it is a popular choice for international visitors.

Takarunga has recently been refurbished to the highest standard with an emphasis on style, elegance, comfort and privacy. With an interior designed by Superyacht award-winning designer Gilly Baillie, the modern yet traditional rooms at Takarunga Luxury Lodge have been designed specifically for our guests’ enjoyment.   Guests have exclusive access to their own tea and coffee facilities in the shared guest lounge.

Each of the four guest bedrooms are elegant, spacious and restful, featuring traditional villa proportions. All of our rooms have their own ensuite with central heating, heated towel rails, luxury linen, pillows, bathrobes, slippers and toiletries. Rooms are serviced daily and have been furbished to a high standard with the emphasis on style, elegance, comfort and privacy.  From a twin shower, original fireplace to a clawfoot bath to soak in or private verandah each room is unique and offers something unique.

Gourmet breakfasts are served in the spacious breakfast room.  We offer both a buffet continental breakfast featuring fresh and seasonal fruits, preserves, local fine cheeses, yoghurt, and our homemade muesli. This can be followed by your selection from our delicious cooked breakfast menu.

We can offer you as much or as little help with your itinerary in New Zealand as you would like – from VIP Meet & Greet at Auckland airport and local sim cards on arrival, to fly fishing with your own private guide. Hosts Claus and Jackie extend a warm welcome to visitors from around the world and can help to locate special opportunities to add to your itinerary.
